When the narrator starts working at Liberty Paints Optic her realizes that black can be covered by white. Meaning that white can still cover the black, hiding the spots where black is. It's showing that the white race can still diminish that black race.

I'm somewhat irritated by the narrator, because he does not give his name. Sometime it confuses me. Also, when he has situations when he is ignored, which is like at the beginning of the book when he said that he was taken advantage of, so since he was ignored, he would do things that no one would say it was him and could not blame him. So, i kind of get it, but it does get annoying.

I had the same question that Trueblood had. Why, if the man did the worst thing to his family, are things getting better. I've noticed that some people in the world have done bad things and still have a better life than those who have nothing wrong and have problems coming to them from everywhere.

He is better than the rest of the men at the party where he is giving his speech, but he is still sent to the ring to fight against other guys. He sees a dancer, and wants to run up to her, but she is taken away by someone, and he returns to reality, where he is about to fight.
The character likes light. I think he likes it a lot because, he is invisible, and the light allows him to believe that he is still alive.
